At Sol Vida Family Care, our providers are Nurse Practitioners (NPs) — advanced practice registered nurses who have completed extensive medical training beyond their registered-nurse education.
Nurse Practitioners hold master’s or doctoral degrees in nursing, complete rigorous clinical rotations, and are nationally certified to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of health conditions.
We want our patients to understand exactly who we are and what that means for their care. While NPs are not medical doctors (MDs or DOs), we provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care rooted in compassion, science, and accessibility.
Nurse Practitioners are licensed to:
Our approach emphasizes whole-person, relationship-based care, combining clinical expertise with a strong focus on communication, patient education, and health promotion.
New Mexico is an independent practice state for Nurse Practitioners.
This means that NPs are licensed by the New Mexico Board of Nursing to practice and prescribe independently, without physician supervision.
Our NPs meet all state and national certification requirements and maintain ongoing education to ensure safe, evidence-based care.
While NPs are qualified to manage most primary-care needs, we also recognize that some situations may benefit from a physician’s involvement.
If at any point a patient’s condition requires specialized expertise, or if a patient simply prefers to see a medical doctor, we will coordinate a referral or consultation to ensure continuity and the highest standard of care.
At Sol Vida, your comfort and confidence come first. Our goal is always to provide the right level of care, at the right time.
Transparency is part of who we are.
We want every patient to know exactly who is providing their care — no confusion, no pretense — just genuine partnership in health.
